NAVER Cloud CEO Kim Yu-won showcases the digital twin platform at Saudi Arabia’s “Cityscape Global 2024”

From November 11 to 14, TEAM NAVER participated in the world’s largest construction exhibition “Cityscape Global 2024.” This year’s Cityscape Global was held in Riyadh, the capital city of Saudi Arabia, under the theme “The Future of Living.” More than 400 global companies and over 500 major city developers from all around the world, including the Middle East, took part in this event.
TEAM NAVER’s technology creates realistic digital replicas of actual cityscapes
TEAM NAVER participated under the slogan “Build a Future City with Digital Twin Now,” in partnership with Saudi Arabia’s National Housing Company (NHC), Korea Land and Geospatial InformatiX Corporation (LX Corporation), and Korea Water Resources Corporation (K-Water).
TEAM NAVER showcased its digital twin technology at the exhibition booth through a 3D model of Saudi cities shown on a diorama media table. Using data accumulated by “ALIKE,” NAVER’s digital twin solution, flood simulations that help prevent and avoid floods, traffic system simulations that monitor traffic conditions and predict traffic flows, and urban planning simulations that analyze changes in urban landscapes and commercial areas were dynamically presented, which impressed more than 12,000 visitors.

*Digital twin: a technology that replicates the real world onto the digital world
New possibilities to come with TEAM NAVER’s spatial intelligence technology
During the four-day exhibition, TEAM NAVER met not only Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, but other key officials including the CEO of Saudi Water Authority to discuss various business projects in Saudi Arabia.
Moreover, a wide range of partners were introduced to “NAVER Twin XR,” a spatial intelligence technology platform that was unveiled at TEAM NAVER’s integrated conference “DAN 24” held in Korea around the same time, and discussed various collaboration possibilities.
Digital twin technology bringing global smart cities to life
“Cityscape Global 2024” showcased TEAM NAVER’s cloud, digital twin, and DX technologies to the Middle East, bringing the team one step closer to realizing its smart city vision in Saudi Arabia.
Next year, TEAM NAVER plans to contribute to digital transformation at a national level by doubling down on its efforts to develop digital twin platforms for major Saudi cities ●
