The World's First Robot-Friendly Building

Having opened its doors for the first time in 2022, NAVER 1784 is NAVER's second headquarters and the world’s first robot-friendly building. With more than 460 related patents registered—including robot-exclusive elevators, a specialized 5G network, and a cloud-based digital twin robot system—NAVER 1784 fully integrates NAVER's smart building solutions, creating an environment in which over 3,000 employees experience cutting-edge future services and systems developed in-house by NAVER.

On the global stage, 1784 has been recognized as the gold standard for smart buildings and a prime testbed for related technology, which is evidenced by its number of visitors: Since its opening, more than 20,000 people, including partners, institutions, and government officials from over 65 countries, have visited 1784 to witness its technologies and services firsthand. The smart building concepts and methodologies that NAVER has pioneered continue to inspire companies and buildings preparing for the next generation of smart infrastructure.

Real Data Accumulated Over 1,000 Days

One of the flagship services of 1784 is robot delivery. Every day, around 100 robots navigate all areas of the building, processing employees' orders in real time and delivering them directly to their destinations. Be it convenience store items, café orders, packages, lunch boxes, and even personal item exchanges, these robots have successfully completed over 60,000 deliveries while maintaining high user satisfaction.

At the core of this robot service is ARC, a cloud-based robot system. ARC controls all robots in real time, guiding them along optimal routes for efficient movement within the building while also integrating seamlessly with the building's infrastructure and various service systems to enhance operational efficiency. ARC also provides a flexible foundation that allows for the easy introduction of new robot services or the expansion of existing ones.
