NAVER Corp. (CEO Choi Soo‑yeon) announced that it has enhanced the recommendation feature of the AI Shopping Agent in the NAVER Shopping app to reflect real-time delivery information. The upgrade makes it easy for users to find products they can receive when they want them, without having to check delivery dates item by item.
For example, a user might ask the AI Shopping Agent, “I’m going camping. Can you recommend a hot pot meal kit that’ll arrive by tomorrow?” When a request includes a delivery condition like this, the agent shortlists products that can actually arrive in time, based on the delivery address the user has set.
The agent then lets users know the expected arrival date, with responses such as “I’ve put together products that will arrive at your 95 Jeongjail‑ro address by Friday, September 18.” It also spells out the order cutoff time for each product: “Order by 10 p.m. tonight to receive it early tomorrow morning.”
The AI Shopping Agent has also become markedly better at recognizing, from natural-language queries, when the situation and context call for fast delivery, and at responding accordingly.
If a user asks, “It’s suddenly gotten cold in the mornings and evenings. Can you recommend an electric heating mat?” the agent suggests a variety of product types, from easy-to-maintain electric mattress pads to water-heated mats with precise temperature control. At the same time, it takes the current wide swings between daytime and nighttime temperatures into account and narrows down the options, prioritizing products the user can receive quickly.
By reducing the time and effort required at every stage of shopping, from product discovery and comparison to recommendations, the AI Shopping Agent is drawing a steadily growing number of users. As of September, the number of conversations with the agent was up about 60% from June, following its official launch, while gross merchandise value (GMV) generated through the agent climbed even more sharply, by 82%.
“We’re developing NAVER’s AI Shopping Agent into an agent built specifically for shopping, one that takes care of the complex conditions and context-specific searches users would otherwise have to work through on their own,” said Lee Jung‑tae, Shopping Search & AI Leader at NAVER. “By combining our personalized recommendation technology with the real-time shopping data across the NAVER Shopping ecosystem, including product specifications, live delivery information, and authentic review data, we will help users make purchase decisions optimized for their intent and context, and continue to build a distinctive AI commerce experience.” (End)
