NAVER D2SF Backs AI Fulfillment Startup 'Techtaka' for the Third Time

NAVER’s corporate venture capitalCVC, NAVER D2SF, has made a follow-on investment in Techtaka. This marks NAVER’s third investment in the AI fulfillment startup, following its seed round in 2020 and Series A in 2021. Since the initial investment, NAVER and Techtaka have maintained a fulfillment partnership. Techtaka has rapidly grown through its role in NAVER DeliveryN Delivery and is now recognized as a leading fulfillment tech company in Korea. NAVER, in turn, has been delivering new fulfillment experiences to users through Techtaka’s AI-powered solutions.
From First Investment to Strategic Partnership
In February 2020, when NAVER D2SF first encountered Techtaka, the company was preparing to establish a corporation with a dream of fullfillment innovation. The cofounders, including CEO Soo-young Yang, are members who have led fullfillment IT projects for companies such as Coupang, Amazon, and United Parcel ServiceUPS. Having developed and operated a direct fullfillment system, they had handled over 2 million orders, 3 million shipments, and 50 million fullfillment tracking records per day. In Korea, such a large-scale IT-powered fullfillment experience is exceptionally rare. In May of the same year, Techtaka established its company, with NAVER D2SF joining as its first investor.
Improving the convenience of fullfillment for both sellers and end consumers was also a major question for NAVER at the time. In 2021, NAVER introduced the NAVER Fulfillment AllianceNFA to connect SmartStore sellers with third-party fullfillment service providers. This system allows sellers to easily access suitable fulfillment services through a one-stop platform, while providers benefit from a stable stream of large-scale cargo volume orders.
To further strengthen the fullfillment partnership, NAVER D2SF participated in Techtaka’s Series A round as a follow-on investor. About six months later, Techtaka successfully completed their product commercialization and joined as an NFA partner, taking on full-scale fullfillment operations for NAVER Shopping sellers.
A New Fulfillment Experience Built Together by NAVER and Techtaka
What’s NAVER D2SF Focus in Fulfillment Tech? Techtaka’s integrated fullfillment platform, “ARGO,” seamlessly connects over 600 marketplaces in a single system digitally—covering product management(content management system, CMS), order collection(order management system, OMS), warehouse management(WM system, WMS), shipping(transportation management system, TMS), and inventory control(supply chain management, SCM). Real-time status can be monitored at each stage, and with AI and robotics technology, costs are reduced by at least 10%.
NAVER Shopping sellers also responded positively to the new fullfillment experience provided by Techtaka. Since joining the NFA, Techtaka saw rapid growth in shipment volume and customer base, with shipment volume increasing by 95% particularly after the launch of NAVER DeliveryN Delivery. By 2024, total shipment volume increased threefold year-over-year, fulfillment order volume fourfold, and the number of customer companies more than doubled, continuing sustainable growth.
Growth is not just about volume—it also requires operational stability. Many startups often halt their growth at this stage because of a lack of customer trust. However, Techtaka demonstrated explosive growth in just 2 years, achieving 16.9 times the shipment volume and 14.9 times the number of customer companies. At the same time, it maintained a same-day shipment rate of 99.98% and real-time inventory accuracy of 99.96%, proving stability and reliability without delivery delays.
Started with NAVER, Moving Fulfillment Innovation Global
Building on its strong partnership with NAVER and having demonstrated large-scale fulfillment capabilities in Korea that led to a positive contribution margin, Techtaka is now expanding its operations into the North American market. With Korean brands—especially K-beauty—achieving first place in Amazon’s Beauty category by sales last year, global interest in K-brands has never been stronger.
Techtaka seized this opportunity by establishing a US corporation and building two hub centers in Los Angeles, California. It now offers integrated cross-border services covering everything from export preparation to overseas sales, including AI-driven customs automation and supply chain optimization. With Korean brands and sellers actively expanding into the North American market, customer companies rapidly increased from the early stages, primarily centered on top K-beauty brands.
Recently, Techtaka was selected for Amazon’s official partner program, Service Provider NetworkSPN. By doing so, it enables them to support Korean sellers’ Amazon entry and growth at competitive prices and secures business opportunities targeting local Amazon sellers. Techtaka has also collaborated with TikTok Shop to provide creators with seamless and borderless third-party fullfillment services.
Traditionally, fullfillment operations have relied heavily on manual data entry and labor-intensive work. Techtaka is building real-time data flow and integrating distributed domestic and international e-commerce fullfillment into one, delivering a faster and more stable global fullfillment experience. So far, Techtaka has grown together with NAVER Shopping and its sellers. Now, NAVER D2SF will continue to partner with Techtaka’s next journey unfolding on the global stage beyond Korea.
