Unveiling Two Pillars of AI Strategy from Services to B2B, Focusing on “Agent N” and AX for Manufacturing

- NAVER introduced Agent N, an advanced “on-service AI” strategy that extends user experiences into the real world

- NAVER Cloud revealed the “Sovereign AI 2.0” strategy, a core initiative driving AX transformation across core manufacturing industries

- NAVER plans to invest KRW 200 billion next year to support creators and secure content within the AI ecosystem

NAVER Corporation (CEO Choi Soo-yeon) hosts the unified TEAM NAVER conference, “DAN25,” at the COEX Grand Ballroom from Thursday, November 6, to Friday, November 7. NAVER unveiled its dual-track AI strategy, which introduces AI agents across key services and strengthens AI transformation(AX) competitiveness in core manufacturing industries, including semiconductors, automotive, and shipbuilding, covering both service and B2B sectors.

NAVER’s on-service AI strategy underscores AI’s role in driving service growth and unlocking new business opportunities.

In her opening keynote at DAN25, CEO Choi stated, “Over the past year, TEAM NAVER has integrated AI into key services, such as search, shopping, local, and finance, using its proprietary technology. This has led to increased user satisfaction and contributed to revenue growth, signaling positive momentum.” Based on this experience and technological foundation, NAVER announced plans to gradually deploy advanced AI agents across its major services, starting with shopping and then expanding to search and advertising.

The first rollout is scheduled for Q1 next year, with the launch of a shopping agent on NAVER’s AI-powered shopping service, NAVER Plus Store. In Q2, NAVER plans to introduce “AI Tab,” an evolved version of integrated search built on AI agent technology. CEO Choi said, “Users won’t have to think about what keywords to type. Through simple conversations with Agent N, the AI agent will understand their intent, connect them with relevant content, products, and services, and even complete actions on their behalf.”

To enable this, NAVER has newly developed “Agent N,” a unified framework that integrates data and technical infrastructure across all its services. Built upon NAVER’s “on-service AI,” “Agent N” is designed to enhance its vertical AI capabilities to understand user context, predict and recommend next actions, and seamlessly execute them.

Kim Bom-jun, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of NAVER, who is leading the project to advance NAVER’s “on-service AI” into “Agent N,” shared a preview of how “Agent N” will be implemented in real services, including end-to-end processes from product discovery to purchase and payment. Kim stated, “Leveraging NAVER’s unique strength in securing diverse types of metadata, we’ve built a highly reliable data infrastructure for the shopping agent—integrating verified reviews from actual buyers or bookers, as well as inventory data directly linked to sellers. We’ve also established a technical validation framework to analyze this data effectively.”

Expanding the advanced tech ecosystem, including AI and XR, for creators and business partners

An AI agent ecosystem for creators and business partners is also taking shape.

Starting next year, NAVER will gradually roll out its integrated business AI agent, “Agent N for Business.” Lee Jong-min, Head of NAVER’s Advertising Business Division, stated, “The NAVER Business Agent is an AI solution designed for all types of merchants, including those in shopping, advertising, and local services. It will unify fragmented solutions and data into a single business hub, enabling merchants to analyze their environment, assess their current status, and implement improvements based on AI insights.”

NAVER will also support creators in exploring new forms of creativity through advanced technologies such as AI and XR. Lee Jae-hoo, Head of the NAVER App Services Division, explained, “With AI and XR technologies, creators will be able to broaden the scope of their work, while users can experience ultraimmersive, hyperrealistic content.” To this end, NAVER plans to expand its collaborations with companies across various sectors, including gaming, music, and OTT platforms.

Aggressive expansion of AI ecosystem investment aimed at world-class infrastructure; AX collaboration to center on core manufacturing industries

NAVER is ramping up its investment in data centers and computing infrastructure to strengthen Korea’s AI ecosystem, aiming to build the nation’s largest and most advanced infrastructure. The company plans to invest over KRW 1 trillion in GPUs by 2026, and will soon begin full-scale operation of a “physical AI” testbed, connecting its second headquarters, 1784, with GAK Sejong data center.

CEO Choi stated, “By combining NAVER’s unrivaled AI software capabilities with the solid competitiveness of Korea’s core manufacturing industries, such as semiconductors, automobiles, and shipbuilding, we aim to accelerate the AI transformation and innovation across all Korean industries.” She added, “With our full-stack AI technology, NAVER will contribute to South Korea’s rise as one of the world’s top three AI powerhouses.”

NAVER Cloud unveils strategy for vertical AI and global expansion

NAVER Cloud (CEO Kim Yu-won) introduced its industrial AI strategy, focusing on vertical AI tailored to specific industries and expansion into global markets. CEO Kim stated, “AI is a core infrastructure that determines industrial competitiveness. As a company that best understands its own language, data, and industrial structure, NAVER is building vertical AI models for each industry based on its ‘Sovereign AI 2.0’ framework.”

NAVER Cloud is internalizing “physical AI” technologies that function in real industrial fields, such as manufacturing and defense, and rapidly expanding its vertical AI ecosystem. Kim added, “We are advancing AI applications across all stages of manufacturing through partnerships with leading companies in shipbuilding, energy, and biotechnology, while also expanding our Sovereign AI references into global markets such as Saudi Arabia, Thailand, and Japan.” He concluded, “We will also broaden AI applications in traditionally low-access sectors like healthcare and agriculture, leading innovation across both industry and society.”

NAVER introduces “NAVER Impact” program to amplify the ripple effect of AI—KRW 200 billion investment planned through 2026 to foster the creative ecosystem

In the closing remarks of her keynote session, CEO Choi shared the vision for NAVER Impact, a program built on over a decade of shared-growth experience and driven by an impact fund model. Choi expressed her hope that NAVER Impact would enable partners to share experiences and grow together through AI technology, creating a ripple effect of positive change. She added, “NAVER will continue supporting small and midsize enterprises (SMEs), creators, and local businesses in boosting productivity and reaching global markets, while also narrowing the gaps in AI education and access to technology.”

NAVER also plans to introduce new initiatives aimed at protecting the value of creators within the AI ecosystem and rewarding their contributions. According to NAVER, its creator rewards program, which began in 2009 with 1,000 participants, has grown to 610,000 as of this year. Next year, the company plans to invest KRW 200 billion in content development and creator rewards. (End)
