September 8, 2025
On September 8, NAVER Blog, now in its 22nd year of service, unveiled its new slogan, “Discovering History, Making Joyful Connections,” along with a forward-looking direction centered on enhanced discovery and strengthening relationships and communities.
Since its launch in 2003, NAVER Blog has enhanced its creative ecosystem to help users express themselves authentically and document their daily lives. As of August 2025, the platform hosts more than 3.3 billion posts across approximately 37 million blogs.
NAVER Blog aims to go beyond simply serving as a space to document personal experiences and daily life. It will continue to help users’ posts be better discovered by other users and foster effective connections among users with similar lifestyles and interests. To reflect this vision, NAVER unveiled a new logo symbolizing the journey from records to “discovery and exploration,” “connection,” and the “expansion of relationships.”
◼ Enhanced AI-based personalized recommendations: Improved display of content aligned with users’ interests and posts from most interacted “neighbors”
To enhance the joy of content discovery, NAVER Blog is further strengthening its AI-based personalized recommendation system. Moving beyond recommendations based on age, gender, topic, etc. the platform now analyzes users’ neighbor relationships, interests, and activity history to help them explore content that matches their preferences and discover new areas of interest.
As the first update aligned with this new direction, NAVER Blog will unveil its newly redesigned “Blog Home” on September 10, featuring enhanced personalized recommendations. While the previous version mainly displayed the latest posts from users’ neighbors, the revamped Blog Home will now recommend content tailored to users’ interests and neighbor relationships as well. Users can explore popular posts from their neighbors, entries from recently visited blogs that may match their interests, and posts frequently viewed by others with similar preferences. In addition, a new relationship strength-based sorting feature will allow users to view posts from neighbors they most actively engage with. This feature will undergo A/B testing with a select group of users before its gradual rollout.
Starting with the Blog Home redesign, NAVER Blog plans to further enhance the content discovery and exploration experience by integrating personalized recommendation technology into the “Recommendations Tab,” which currently offers posts by topic and age group, by the end of the year. A new tab is also in the works to provide a quick overview of trending content, bloggers, and topics gaining attention on the platform.
◼ Strengthening connections through community features: More active communication with users who share similar tastes and interests and even cocreate content
NAVER Blog is improving its communication features to help users connect more actively with others based on shared interests. Starting on September 10, users can leave a wider range of reactions on blog posts, with the addition of six types of empathy emojis, including “Funny” and “Amazing,” to the existing “Like (Heart).” NAVER also plans to introduce a new “widget” feature that users can add to their blog home pages. With options like Q&A and polls, the widgets will expand communication beyond traditional comments, likes, and greeting posts, offering more interactive and engaging ways for users to connect.
Going a step further, NAVER Blog plans to introduce new community features that enable users with shared interests and preferences to cocreate content and share information. Upcoming features include collaborative blog challenges with neighbors and tools for sharing curated content based on common interests.
Lee Il-gu, Head of the Content Services Division at NAVER, stated, “NAVER Blog has steadily grown by staying true to its core value of ‘recording’ and offering a stable service that has earned users’ constant trust and affection for over 20 years.” He added, “NAVER Blog’s next chapter will be a ‘blog we share together,’ one where users can discover new interests and trends, find creative inspiration, and build deeper connections through the records of those they’re connected with.”
Meanwhile, to coincide with the Blog Home redesign, NAVER Blog will host a “Blog Home Treasure Hunt Event” from September 10 to 23. Users can participate once per day via the NAVER Blog app, and winners will be selected through a draw to receive NAVER Pay points. (End)
