NAVER Corporation (CEO Choi Soo-yeon) announced the publication of the “Integrated Report 2024,” outlining the company’s environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives and achievements throughout the year.
The report provides detailed examples of how NAVER has created ESG value across various business sectors, including its Search Platform, Commerce, and Fintech divisions. Notable cases include Quick Settlement and Commerce Solution Market, which promote SME growth through inclusive finance and technical support; Security Guarantee Programs, which ensure trustworthy transactions by preventing counterfeit and harmful products entering the market; and CLOVA CareCall, a care service for elderly individuals living alone and single-person middle-aged households.
NAVER has also expanded its sustainability management framework by adding a new category, “Technology for People,” to supplement the existing ESG-focused strategies. This supplementation reflects the company’s distinctive identity as a tech platform business. Under this initiative, NAVER introduced technology-driven ESG strategies, such as the safe development and use of AI, broader digital inclusion, and enhanced user protection, demonstrating its commitment and achievements as a platform-based business.
The company also launched a new “Service Reliability” section and highlighted its company-wide goals and systems for ensuring stable service even during disasters or technical disruptions, reinforcing the value of trust in service operations.
The detailed plan for the “Impact Fund,” first announced at last year’s “TEAM NAVER Conference DAN 24,” has also been revealed. The report details NAVER’s plan to invest KRW 1 trillion between 2025 and 2030 across three key areas: ▲Tech Impact, ▲Business Impact, and ▲Community Impact. The fund will support projects such as nationwide AI campaigns, adult-focused AI and software education, and growth mileage programs for sellers to boost the tech and business capabilities of future generations, SMEs, and creators.
The report also documents NAVER’s performance in sustainable management within environmental and governance domains. In 2024, the company reduced a total of 30,925 tCO2eq of greenhouse gas emissions, including 9,144 tCO2eq, through renewable energy. NAVER also enhanced its ethical management and established a transparent and sound governance system, earning an AA grade in the Fair Trade Voluntary Compliance Program.
Lastly, NAVER presented its strategies, goals, and achievements aligned with global standards on key issues such as ▲personal information protection, ▲human capital management, ▲information security, and ▲greenhouse gas and energy management. The company reaffirmed its commitment to promoting transparent communication with stakeholders and advancing sustainability. (End)
