Poshmark, the fashion C2C marketplace acquired by NAVER in January, officially launched 'Posh Lens' on the 19th, empowering shoppers to easily and quickly search for products with just a photo.

Accessible through the 'Posh Lens' icon on the Poshmark mobile app's search bar, this feature finds products that match or most closely resemble the uploaded image in women's and men's clothing, shoes, and bags categories. Initially launching for users in the United States, Poshmark has plans to expand to additional markets in the future. ‘Posh Lens’ not only enhances users' shopping experience by allowing them to easily and quickly discover desired products, but also provides increased growth opportunities for sellers as a wider range of products will be exposed in the search results.
'Posh Lens' stands out as the first instance of Poshmark integrating NAVER's technology into a new feature. It incorporates NAVER's AI image search (vision) technology, which serves as the backbone for NAVER's 'Smart Lens'. Starting with 'Posh Lens', both companies aim to further enhance the synergy between NAVER's technology and Poshmark's community, ultimately securing the leadership in the global C2C market by delivering a unique user experience.
NAVER's AI image search technology, implemented in the Smart Lens, excels at automatically recognizing objects within images and generating similar image results, streamlining the usability of search. The Smart Lens enables specialized searches for various categories, including shopping, text recognition, and even wine labels. Even without knowing the exact product name, users can find desired items using only images.
Last year, NAVER advanced its search service by incorporating "multimodal AI," which learns from both text and images concurrently to quickly and effectively deliver desired results. Users can capture an image and provide additional text input to receive more specific results. This feature has proven highly popular among domestic users, particularly in the shopping domain where detailed searches based on user preferences such as color, design, and material are crucial.
Meanwhile, Poshmark, which leads the North American fashion C2C market with its vibrant community, is focusing on connecting buyers and users in meaningful ways and advancing new growth drivers. After the acquisition by NAVER, Poshmark launched 'Posh Shows', a live commerce feature, in April, further expanding its offerings. Poshmark also plans to collaborate with NAVER on the next phase of growth for Posh Shows.
“The launch of Posh Lens is just the beginning of how we are working with NAVER to deliver new innovation to the Poshmark community,” said Manish Chandra, founder and CEO of Poshmark. “Our sellers have curated an extensive and unique catalog of merchandise available for sale, and Posh Lens offers shoppers the ability to turn their inspiration into reality and track down special pieces with a single photo. We’re also thrilled to bring Posh Lens to our community on the heels of introducing live shopping through Posh Shows – these innovations are giving consumers exciting new ways to search, shop and find style inspiration on Poshmark." <END>
