NAVER D2 Startup Factory (D2SF) announced that it has newly invested in the NFT and blockchain-based content creation startup Modhaus in a pre-A round of funding.
Modhaus is developing a fan-engagement entertainment platform using NFTs and blockchain technology. Unlike before when the agency introduced artists through its own productions, Modhaus allows fans to participate in the entire process of producing artists, ranging from trainee selection to debut album concept creation.
Modhaus is preparing to launch a girl group named tripleS as its first project, revealing the first member of the group on May 1. The company will continue to actively communicate with the fan community by regularly releasing new content about the project. It plans to choose the group’s other members and album plans with fan community through their platform.
“On the metaverse platform, content that can lead to the active participation of the fan community is important, and those content is based on NFTs and blockchain technology. Modhaus is rapidly targeting the market by developing a platform where fan community can directly engage in content planning and production and we expect NAVER’s various content platforms to create synergies with Modhaus’ platform," said Yang Sang-hwan, leader of NAVER D2 Startup Factory.
NAVER D2SF is steadily investing in technologies and platforms that help users participate in content creation, such as Nine Corporation, which developed a blockchain-based game engine; AI composition solution POZAabs; and 3D content authoring tools, including N.Light, Flask and VirtualFlow. The company is also recruiting startups for new investments and collaborations
